Turn up the volume, and enjoy the slideshow above... "Thanks for taking the time to view my photos, all of which are and always will be of wild life , not captive or "semi captive". I only took up photography in 2010 with my "first camera" and still have a lot to learn as a self taught photographer, so your comments are welcome. My main interest is bird photography which can be quite challenging, and any other wildlife. I think about fifty per cent of successful wild life photography is good field craft, forty per cent photographic skills, and the remaining ten per cent luck ! I have always been a country lover from childhood, and my country pursuits in the past have included fishing, and trialling and training gundogs. I spent around twenty years on grouse moors, counting the birds with my German pointer dogs on the Dumfries House Estate , some 50,000 acres ! Memorable outings too on the moors with future Kings ! I no longer field trial Labradors or Pointers but still fly fish for salmon and trout, and take enormous satisfaction from photographing the wildlife I have loved, watched and studied since a boy".....
